My ENET adapter LED is red. What does that mean?
A solid red LED indicates low voltage (<11.5V) or a blown OBD fuse. Check your battery with a multimeter and replace the OBD port fuse if necessary. Always use a battery charger during long coding sessions.
Can I use the adapter on MINI or Rolls-Royce vehicles?
Yes. MINI F-Series and later, as well as Rolls-Royce Ghost, Wraith, and Cullinan share the same ENET/DOIP architecture. The adapter works out of the box with ISTA for these brands.
Why does my phone disconnect from the adapter WiFi randomly?
This is usually caused by aggressive battery optimization on Android or iOS background app refresh. Disable battery optimization for your tuning app and set the WiFi network to "Keep connected" in your phone settings.
Do I need to pay for software updates?
Firmware updates for the adapter are free for life. Tuning app updates (Bootmod3, MHD) are also free, but map packs and licenses are sold separately. BimmerCode is a one-time purchase with free updates.
What is the difference between ISTA and ISTA-P?
ISTA (formerly ISTA-D) is the diagnostic and repair guide software. ISTA-P is the programming tool used for flashing modules and updating firmware. Our ISTA Online service includes both.

Which ENET adapter should I buy?
For most users, the standard ENET WiFi adapter ($69) is perfect. For professionals or G-Series owners, the Type-C version ($299) with DOIP and voltage display is recommended.
Does it work with my iPhone?
Yes. Our WiFi adapters work with both iOS and Android devices. iPhone and iPad users can connect via the WiFi network created by the adapter.
What is the WiFi password?
The default password is printed on the adapter label. If lost, contact our WhatsApp support with your order number.
Can I use it for Bootmod3 and MHD?
Absolutely. Our ENET adapters are fully tested and compatible with Bootmod3, MHD, BimmerCode, BimmerLink, and all major BMW tuning apps.
Feature Activation Questions
Is coding safe for my car?
Yes. Feature activation only unlocks features that already exist in your BMW's software. It does not alter core systems or safety functions.
Can I revert coding changes?
Yes. All coding software creates an automatic backup of your original settings. You can revert to stock at any time.
Do I need an ENET adapter for coding?
Yes. You need an ENET adapter (WiFi or cable) to connect your device to the vehicle's OBD port for coding.
Tuning Questions
Will tuning void my warranty?
Tuning may affect your factory warranty. However, flashing back to stock before dealer visits removes all traces of tuning.
Can I flash back to stock?
Yes. Both Bootmod3 and MHD allow you to flash back to the original stock map at any time. This takes just 10 minutes.
What power gains can I expect?
Stage 1 typically adds 50-80 HP on stock hardware. Stage 2 with supporting mods can add 100-150 HP depending on engine.

How long does shipping take to the USA?
Express courier delivery to the United States typically takes 5-8 business days. We use DHL or FedEx with full tracking and customs pre-clearance. Orders placed before 2 PM Hong Kong time ship same-day.
What happens if my adapter arrives damaged?
Contact us within 7 days with a photo of the damaged packaging and product. We will ship a replacement immediately at no cost. You do not need to return the damaged unit.
Do you provide remote assistance?
Yes. Our technicians can connect to your laptop via TeamViewer or AnyDesk to guide you through ISTA coding, E-SYS configuration, or troubleshooting. This service is complimentary for customers who purchased an adapter or retrofit kit from us.
BMW Model Compatibility
Will the ENET adapter work on my 2023 BMW X5?
Yes. The 2023 BMW X5 (G05 LCI) uses the DOIP protocol. Our ENET WiFi Type-C adapter is the recommended choice for G05 models because it supports the higher data rates required for BDC3 module programming.
Can I code a 2012 BMW F30 with this adapter?
Absolutely. The F30 3-Series uses standard ENET (not DOIP). All of our adapters, including the basic cable, work perfectly with F30 vehicles for coding and diagnostics.
Are the parts genuine BMW?
Yes. We use genuine BMW parts or OEM-equivalent components from the same manufacturers that supply BMW.
Can I install retrofits myself?
Many kits are designed for DIY installation with detailed guides. Complex retrofits like digital clusters may require professional installation.

What should I do before my first coding session?
Charge your battery, download the latest app version, and create a free account. Read your vehicle's module data first to establish a baseline. Work in a well-lit area with your phone charger nearby. If possible, have a second person watch the vehicle voltage while you code.
Can I damage my car by coding the wrong feature?
It is very difficult to cause physical damage through coding because you are only changing configuration bits, not engine maps. The worst-case scenario is a non-functional feature or a warning light, both of which are reversible with a backup restore.
How do I know if a feature is compatible with my car?
BimmerCode shows only features compatible with your VIN. If a feature is greyed out, your hardware does not support it. For E-SYS, consult our compatibility matrix or send us your VIN for a custom check.
